Germany is a great country for camping holidays.
The countryside is beautiful, ranging from the lakes and forests of the Black Mountains
in the South-West, to the wide open sea-shores of the Baltic in the North.
In between
there are miles and miles of empty country, wonderfully preserved medieval towns,
and the attractions of the great cities such as Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt. The
food is tasty and wholesome and the people are so friendly - what are you waiting
for! Click the campsite links below to find out more and check prices and availability.
Driving in Germany is generally
straightforward, with just a few things to remember:
-
Many of the Autobahns have no speed limit.
Those that do are clearly marked with the usual red signs, and drivers obey
these limits. A blue speed sign means the lmit is advisory only..
-
Some cities now operate a "Low
emission zone" policy which means you must purchase a sticker proving
your car passes the emission test.
-
Be careful in built up areas as there is a
tendency for drivers coming on to your road from the right to have
precedence.
