Camping holidays in the French Alps are perfect for those looking for something
a little different from the usual beach-side camping holiday. Eurocamp's campsites

This Lake is at the gateway to the Northern Alps, and easy to reach by car from
the UK, with
the A41 Autoroute putting Annecy less than an hour's drive from Geneva
and not much more from Lyon. Indeed, it's possible to reach Annecy from Calais in
about 7 hours' driving. Lake Annecy is a great holiday destination, offering watersports
on the lake, cruises, a cycle and walking path around the shore, plus all the activities
associated with being in the mountains. The town of Annecy enjoys a very attractive
lakeside setting and fantastic views of the mountains on the opposite shore. There
are plenty of bars and restaurants along the flower-bedecked banks of the little
river that flows into the lake, and an excellent food market once weekly.
