Eurocamp and
Keycamp both offer the opportunity to enjoy a camping holiday in the
Pyrenées at the Airotel campsite. The campsite is about 30 km south of Lourdes
right in the heart of the Western French Pyrenees.
The site enjoys a stunning position high in the mountains on the
edge of the Pyrenées National Park. There are 4 pools, indoor and
outdoor, a whirlpool and a sauna. Eurocamp offer a mixture of "mobile" homes and
fixed tents, while Keycamp's accommodation is all in their "mountain lodges".
The mountains are wonderful for walking at all levels of
ability. Although spectacular, they are less daunting and savage than the Alps.
As well as walking, mountain biking and every other outdoor activity associated
with being in the mountains is on offer.
The nearby town of Luz St Sauveur, about 1 km away, is an
attractive spa town with a full range of shops and some excellent restaurants
ranging from budget to expensive but very good. The Spa complex includes a
jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and hydro massage. Nearby is the ski area of Luz Ardiden.
